Delivery and Shipping
Here at UK Lifting Store Ltd we offer the best lead times we possibly can.
We try and offer next day delivery on as many products as possible. Next day delivery on selected items is available where orders are placed before 1pm. Should lead times be a concern to you or your company we always advise contacting us prior to placing your order.
All selected items are sent on a Next Day Signature Service, unless requested otherwise by yourselves. There are no hidden charges for your Next Day Delivery. Should you have a ‘safe place’ for couriers to leave your parcel, please ensure this is noted in the ‘Comments’ section of your order or ring our office on 0121 368 0662 to inform a member of our team.
The courier used for your delivery will vary depending on the value/weight of your order. The majority of our orders which weigh over 30.0Kgs will be packaged on our secure and robust pallets. Some orders may still be packaged in separate boxes, depending on the goods ordered.
All of our deliveries are packaged in the best way possible to suit the end-user. Our packing department will aways take into consideration loading/unloading consequences and weight is distributed evenly (where packed on a pallet), to avoid any tipping situations whilst in transport or when loading/unloading. Our packaging is also weather-resistant.
Should your goods be small/light enough, it may be received in a bag where possible.
Collections are also available from our warehouse in Cradley Heath, West Midlands.
Note: we cannot obtain proof of deliveries over 30 days old.

Grade 8 (Grade 80) Lifting Chain – High-Strength Alloy Chain Sold by the Metre
Our Grade 8 lifting chain, also known as Grade 80 alloy lifting chain, is a heavy-duty, high-strength chain designed specifically for lifting, hoisting and rigging applications in industrial and construction environments. Manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel, this professional lifting chain delivers exceptional strength, durability and wear resistance under demanding working conditions.
Suitable for use in chain sling assemblies, overhead lifting systems and heavy load movement, Grade 8 chain is widely used across engineering workshops, fabrication facilities, construction sites and logistics operations throughout the UK.
Available in a range of diameters from 6mm through to 32mm, this lifting chain offers varying Working Load Limits (WLL) to match your specific operational requirements. Each length is sold per metre, allowing you to order exactly what you need for custom sling builds, repairs or replacement lifting components.
Manufactured in accordance with BS EN 818-2 standards, Grade 8 lifting chain provides reliable performance, traceability and compliance for professional lifting applications where safety is critical.
If you are looking to buy high-quality lifting chain in the UK, our Grade 8 alloy chain offers the strength and performance required for industrial use.
Model: C8182
Our grade 80 lifting chain is sold per metre. Add your required meterage into the quantity box.
Grade 8 lifting chain is a high-strength, heavy-duty chain designed for demanding lifting, hoisting, and load-securing applications. Manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel to Grade 8 specifications, this chain offers exceptional strength, durability, and wear resistance, making it ideal for industrial, construction, and transport operations.
The chain features a high working load limit (WLL) while maintaining excellent toughness and resistance to elongation under load. Each link is precision-engineered for reliability and safety, and all chains are fully traceable, ensuring compliance with lifting regulations and quality standards.
Our Grade 8 chain is suitable for use in a temperature range of -40°C up to 200°C without reduction in working load limit. From 200°C to 300°C reduction is -90%. From 300°C to 400°C reduction is 75% and above. 400°+ - DO NOT USE!
⚠️ Always use with compatible Grade 8 lifting components. Do not exceed the rated working load limit and inspect regularly for wear, deformation, or damage before use.
CUT LENGTHS OF CHAIN ARE NON-RETURNABLE & NON-REFUNDABLE.
How to Choose the Right Grade 8 Lifting Chain
Selecting the correct lifting chain size is essential for safe and compliant lifting operations.
1. Choose the Correct Chain Diameter
Chain diameter directly affects the Working Load Limit (WLL). Larger diameter chains are capable of lifting heavier loads. Always confirm your maximum load weight before selecting chain size.
If you are unsure which diameter is suitable, consult your lifting plan or contact our team for technical guidance.
2. Understand the Working Load Limit (WLL)
The Working Load Limit is the maximum load that the chain is rated to lift safely under normal conditions. Never exceed the stated WLL.
For overhead lifting, it is essential that all components in your assembly (hooks, master links, connectors) are rated to match or exceed the chain’s WLL.
3. Compliance & Standards
This Grade 8 lifting chain is manufactured in line with BS EN 818-2, the recognised European standard for short link lifting chain for overhead use.
All lifting equipment should be used in accordance with LOLER regulations and be subject to regular inspection and maintenance.
4. Environmental & Temperature Considerations
Grade 80 alloy chain performs reliably in demanding industrial environments and across a broad temperature range. However, extreme conditions may require consultation before use.
